I think Admin was just quoting from Bill Harris's book Thresholds of the Mind. It's a good read, but I decided not to do the Holosync program.

Yes, and so far I've found that it does everything that it's supposed to do. But the same thing should happen with traditional meditation.

Meditation involves more than just sitting comfortably in an awkward position and pretending to be one with the universe. The practice is commonly defined as "stopping all thought". For beginners, this can be done by focusing on a single point of reference. This single idea is usually a happy or relaxing thought or place, where you walk yourself through. In a sense, it is like forced daydreaming; only that you feel and live that daydream. You then wake up from your trance feeling relaxed, refreshed, and having a better perception of things.

Does anyone know anything about this meditation program: http://www.meditationprogram.com/?afl=62236

This is not a true meditation program. It is Brain Wave Entrainment and while it can create some similar experiences and certainly is an important technique for some purposes, it should not be confused with meditation.  I do use BWE but not with my meditative practice.
Meditation does require substantial practice but the net result if far deeper and much more profound that BWE. Don't confuse the two. Meditation creates a much deeper state of clarity and bliss than BWE will ever equal.

Also, I really think that using an affiliate link in a post is offensive. I, too am an affiliate marketer but I let my signature do the talking. In the actual post, you should just stick to commenting on the actual content.

BTW-TomS, I must commend you on an excellent post on meditation. I rarely read such well thought out and content filled posts.

Tom has gone. We do not know if he still reads here.

I found my own meditative practices over the years, which are different from what I am hoping to achieve when I use BWE.

One is my "secret house" up on top of the mountains. I go there when I just need to be alone in my own space.

The other thing is when I have aches and pains in my body. I scan over and whatever is causing the most discomfort, I locate times when that body part didn't hurt. It makes the discomfort lessen straight away.

I was also wondering the same thing. I know that Tom could get carried away sometimes but he often had some good input.

If a person's name shows in black, it means that user has deleted their account. Beyond that, we have no info.  Sad

I'm sorry that he left. He often had some important things to say. However, I suspect that he may have become discouraged with the personal development movement.  So many internet marketers have jumped into this field with little or no understanding of the basic knowledge of self-development that I am also sometimes discouraged. The LOA is a good example. While I believe in it, most of the products leave out the most important steps that their products do more damage than help. The thing is that this forum is an import way to expose the hype and really help people in their quest for self improvement.
