There are many programs today offering instant success. These are also the same programs that are totally worthless. Their marketing feeds off of the disease of instant gratification which has become nothing less than an epidemic. I hate to be the one to tell you this but there is no such thing as instant success. There are no magic bullets and if you truly desire success, self fulfillment or anything near the limitless opportunities and wealth that are within your reach, you are going to have to stop searching for magic bullets and instant gratification.
I know that work is a four letter word to many people but to become successful that is what it takes. To avoid work, would-be success seekers will jump from one program to the next having never put in the work to make the program work. It doesn't matter if you use a program like the Silva System, hypnotism, subliminals, affirmations, SMART goals or any of a number of excellent products, you must devote the time and work necessary to reach the success that you are looking for.
While most people are more than willing to spend their precious time working at a job they hate and spend the rest of their time complaining about how they hate their boss, their work and everyone they work with, there are some that realize that true wealth and success are within the reach of all of mankind and will start down the path to success.
Unfortunately, too many people do this by searching for the magic bullet that without putting in the time and work will turn them into an overnight success. As they spend their time and money jumping from one success program to the next all that they end up with in the end is a sour attitude toward the entire self fulfillment industry.
If you are truly seeking limitless wealth and success, choose any of the very excellent programs that are available and dedicate yourself to putting in the work and time to reach success. Virtually all of the well known programs will ultimately lead to success if you stick with the program and follow it's instructions consistently. Dedicate your time to the study that is needed, do all of the exercises that they teach and make sure that you take the necessary action steps on a daily basis and in the end you will find your success.
With dedication and patience, limitless wealth and success can be yours. Just remember that there is no such thing as instant gratification and there are no magic bullets.

I think this is the number 1 reason why people -- especially online -- are not successful. Sadly, I am also a victim of this kind of trash thinking...

The reason that I wrote this post is because I have also been guilty of the same thing. I became handicapped a number of years ago and in looking for something to do, I got swept up in the net marketing hype and I wasted quite a bit of money. Many of the programs would probably have worked if I had stuck with them but instead I wasted a fair bit of money looking for the magic bullet. I finally landed on a program called Profit Lance: http://1milleasy.profitlan.hop.clickbank.net which basically said if you want to make money on the internet stick with this program and don't expect overnight magic. It said if you are not willing to spend the time learning net marketing the proper way then I should simply get my money refunded. It actually felt like a slap in the face but then I realized what I had been doing. It is the same with self fulfillment programs-if you are looking for a magic bullet, then failure is likely on the horizon. I recommend a number of good programs on my website but to be successful, you need to choose one program and stick with it. Even the true teachers of "The Secret" will tell you that it is no magic bullet and you have to expect to spend time in study and application before you will start to see results.

I absolutely 100% agree Being the owner of a large library of self development material, books, dvd's audio cd's, and having attended a number of popular seminars etc. The thought came whilst attending an NLP Practioner course, that I already possessed all that I needed to be successful in life. It is not the knowledge that this material gives that will make any difference to our results. What does make the difference is the Persistent Applied Knowledge of the gems we have gleaned. This is not as easy as it sounds It seems to me that to be as focussed as we can be, we need the cooperation of the unconscious mind. To clear past conditioning, negative emotions, limiting beliefs and just the plain dumb things we do. To have true faith/belief in our own ability to manifest what we want, allows you to take stronger more focussed actions. In other words you don't have a fearful voice in your head telling you "this will never work". When I think back of the money I have spent on all the self development "stuff" I have bought it is frightening, but then again I have really enjoyed it, so conclusion, its been great. Man is that he may have joy Gordie

In it's most simple terms the secret boils down to one simple equation: Knowledge + application = results

Hi Stan, Yes one great problem of the modern age is the lack of ability to concentrate for more than one nanosecond on any given thing. If it doesn`t do it for you in the first 5 minutes move onto the next thing. We are now bombarded with images and products that confusion is bound to follow. Its one big rush to nothing in particular, gratification with no feeling or reason that you went there in the first place. If the road is long and hard but you get to where you know you truthfully want to be in the end then that is real satisfaction. Best wishes, Ellison.

Hi Sueblue, Great to hear from you. Over the past few months, I have been spending a lot more time on my websites. Rather than just reviewing programs, I have been spending much more time writing about how people can get the most out of the different programs. Too many people jump from program to program and while you can gain a tremendous amount of knowledge, it does no good if not applied. So, now I am spending more time on trying to get people to apply the newly acquired knowledge rather than just gaining knowledge without application. Most self-fulfillment programs fail not because the program is not good but the reader did not apply the knowledge. In addition, I have dropped most of my affiliate relationships in favor of the specific programs that have been over the top for me. For example, while I give Silva a first rate review, I am no longer an affiliate because the program did not have a direct and profound effect upon me. However, Allan Tutt's PowerKeys has had a personal impact upon me so I still maintain affiliate status with him. There are many great programs and I will continue to give fair and impartial reviews but I am rarely going to become an affiliate of them.
Anyway, I will try to spend more time here.

After I read the book and watched the DVD about 'The Secret' I had the impression that this was yet another of the many programs today offering instant success. It seems too easy and too good to be true. Maybe the application is harder than I originally thought.

You are exactly right about the Secret movie. It does not give you the complete knowledge that you need and it certainly does not teach you how to apply the Law of Attraction. The movie has plenty of flash and fluff but it is rather incomplete. The original 100 year-old texts that it was taken from are far more effective and complete.

I watched The Secret and I did a lot of studying after that. I have read a lot more about it and I can tell you that The Secret is ridiculous but many people have capitalized on it. Some of us have possibly made sense of the whole rigmarole. But then, you would have to pay money to find out how!

Almost all of the old texts are available free on the net and are as good or better than most of the new LOA programs. Look up the category freebies on my review site and some of those old texts are available there-free to download with no registration required. As I get time over the next few days, I will make up a list of some of the original LOA material and where you can download them for free.

I will look forward to seeing that! Ever since Rhonda Byrne's book was published, many variations on the theme of 'The Secret' have appeared on the market. It seems like a never ending quest to grasp what the real 'secret' is or a never ending quest for publishers to cash in on it.
